Submission specifications for Individual Stickers

Add 5 mm bleed.

To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 5 mm around all edges of your design. Make sure colours, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances. You can submit your file with crop marks and printer's marks.

Keep 4 mm safety margin

Keep all important text and images at least 4 mm away from the edge of the finished size. Exclusive finishes need to be within the safety margin.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Use CMYK as the colour mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2) for coated papertypes and colourmode FOGRA47 (PSO Uncoated ISO12647) for uncoated papertypes. If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats (PDF (1.4 or higher), TIFF, EPS, JPG). Deliver your files in one layer: the background layer.

Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.

Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving it to PDF.

Use the right values for full colour black.

Use Rich Black (C:63% M:52% Y:51% K:100%) for larger areas and text to get a deep black colour. Do not use this value for text smaller than 15 pt or plain text. This can only be used in full colour printing. For designing black smaller texts use 100% black.

Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Force Colour Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Colour Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design. You can read more about overprint in our Help Centre.

White will not be printed.

If you choose a transparent material, the entire design will be translucid and semi see-through. White areas in your design will be transparent.

Cut deviation 1-3 mm

Due to cutting we have a risk deviation of 1 to 3mm. Please bear this in mind when uploading your artwork.

When can I use standard stickers?

• Standard Stickers can be stuck to many surfaces! Apply them on the back of packaging boxes, water bottles or sealing envelopes. Use them as a quick and easy way to promote your brand for any campaign!
  Note: While standard stickers are suitable for most flat surfaces, excess touching/rubbing can cause the print to fade and reduce the lifespan of your sticker. For example, if they are used on a phone or laptop.

What is the fastest possible turnaround?

• The fastest possible turnaround for Individual Stickers is:

• Please note: Only applicable for products which require your design: To make sure that your order is delivered at the indicated time, it is important that we receive your file with your design for the product, on time (also called cut-off time). This way, the product can be moved into production on time. The deadline is always communicated at the final step when putting your product together and in the box on the right which details your entire order.

Which production techniques do we use?

• For the production of Individual Stickers, we use the following technique(s):
• Digital printing: Uses four colours (CMYK) with toners and inks to print digital files. This option is comparable to a large home printer, and is cheaper than Litho printing for smaller quantities. This is because there are fewer starting costs, fewer components involved, and no ink drying time required.
• 
  Offset Lithography printing or Litho printing: Makes it possible to provide larger quantities at unbeatable prices. This technique creates images and text with wet ink and transferred to each paper sheet with aluminium and rubber plates. This method is more extensive than its "digital" counterpart because of the different printing materials that are used. Still, it is the most cost-effective option when you order bigger printed batches.
• 
  Please note that this product is lasercut, which can shrink the foil material slightly and give you a white border on the edge of each sticker.

Which carriers are used for the delivery?

• For the delivery of your Individual Stickers we use multiple carriers. We use our most reliable carriers which in most cases are UPS or DPD.

Can Individual Stickers be used outdoors?

• Not all types of stickers can be used outside. If you would like to use your stickers outside, we would recommend using 90gsm PVC or transparent stickers. The lifetime of these stickers is affected by use outside. Other materials can only be used inside.

What materials can I choose from?

• Glossy stickers (90gsm): These stickers are weatherproof and can easily be removed. They're perfect for both indoor and outdoor promotions.
• Transparent Stickers (90gsm): Transparent stickers are perfect for window advertising in shops or cars and are suitable for both, indoor and outdoor advertising. NOTE: We cannot print white on transparent stickers!
• It's also important to note that the stickers are not all fully transparent. The printed surface of transparent sticker will show a slight transparency, meaning it will work perfectly on a bright background and not on a dark background. Would you like a transparent sticker where the print is not transparent? Please contact us for a quotation.
• Writable stickers: This 73 gsm stickers material is perfectly writable and can also be stamped. The stickers have a matte look and can be used for many purposes! Ideal for labelling as well.

Can transparent stickers be printed with a white design?

• No, transparent stickers can not be printed with a white design. All white parts in the design will be transparent within the design.

Are the stickers delivered on a square sheet format even if I order round shape sticker?

• Our stickers may be delivered on a square sheet format even if the ordered stickers have a round shape. They may also be delivered on a round sheet format.

What are the sizes available for standard stickers?

• We offer 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, 95mm 148mm and 210mm for printed standard stickers. These sizes are standard specifically for leafletsprinting.com and may differ from company to company.

What are the shapes available for standard stickers?

• The shapes available for standard stickers are round, rectangle and square.
